Uso de COMMUNITY en BGP

 

Como suele ocurrir, la gente de cisco nos brinda uno de esos documentos en los que solo el títulos no tiene desperdició: “Using BGP Community Values to Control Routing Policy in Upstream Provider Network”

 En ocasiones resulta complicado localizar las políticas de community de la gente que nos rodea ya que algunos operadores de tránsitos la consideran información interna que puede cambiar y no quieren tener que programar cualquier cambio en dicha información, pero mas o menos se encuentra.

En los ultimos años se a extendido al practica del uso de community como medio de propagar por todo Internet nuestra política de peering mas allá de nuestra frontera, es un método un tanto manual, pero al menos es algo que no requiere coordinación por parte de los administradores de los diferentes AS, cada uno publica su política y el resto la usa como mas le convenga.
